Play the future of mobile gaming: Neural Dawn now available to download

Co-developed by Arm and Sumo, Neural Dawn is now available to download and play on the latest mobile devices powered by the Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU, bringing cinematic lighting, ray tracing, and neural graphics directly to the hands of mobile gamers.

Mobile gaming is entering a new era of richer, more cinematic experiences. But delivering them within the power, thermal, and performance limits of a handheld device remains one of the industry’s defining graphics challenges.

Neural graphics are changing what’s possible, using AI-based techniques to reduce traditional rendering workloads and free up graphics performance, so developers can devote more of their graphics budget to lighting, shadows, motion, and more cinematic environments.

Earlier this year, Arm and Sumo demonstrated this potential with Neural Dawn, which is the first game showcasing Arm Neural Technology and Unreal Engine MegaLights, bringing cinematic lighting, ray tracing, and neural graphics into a complete mobile gaming experience. Now, we're taking the next step, putting neural graphics directly into players' hands with Neural Dawn available as a fully downloadable gaming experience.

Play Neural Dawn on the latest mobile devices powered by the Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU

Neural Dawn is playable across five newly released mobile devices:

  • The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max and vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max smartphones that are both powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset which features the Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU; and
  • The Xiaomi 18 Fold smartphone and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max tablet that are both powered by Xiaomi’s XRING O3 chipset also featuring Mali G2-Ultra NX.

Together, these mobile devices provide the hardware foundation for Arm Neural Technology, while Neural Dawn demonstrates how these capabilities can enhance mobile gaming.

With dedicated neural acceleration integrated directly into the GPU and graphics pipeline, Mali G2-Ultra NX enables rhigher resolution visuals through Neural Super Sampling (NSS), smoother gameplay through Neural Frame Rate Upscaling, and cleaner ray-traced scenes through denoising as part of Neural Super Sampling and Denoising, all within mobile power constraints.

Explore a world where light guides the story

In Neural Dawn, players take the role of a research scientist exploring a vast cave network while uncovering the story of a collapsing civilization. As they venture deeper underground, light becomes central to the experience, revealing clues, guiding exploration, and bringing the game's environments to life.

Unreal Engine MegaLights delivers ray-traced lighting to create dynamic shadows, dramatic lighting, and richly detailed environments. These cinematic lighting techniques open new creative possibilities for developers, allowing them to use light and shadow to build suspense, reveal details, and guide players through the story. Combined with neural graphics, they also deliver sharper visuals and smoother motion while balancing performance and power efficiency demands.

The result is a mobile adventure where lighting becomes an integral part of the storytelling, shaping how players explore and experience gameplay.

Working with Sumo on Neural Dawn helped Arm understand what developers need to bring advanced graphics techniques into production. Meanwhile for Sumo, developing Neural Dawn as a complete game experience provided an opportunity to explore how neural graphics fit into real mobile game production.

“Neural Dawn gave us the opportunity to treat neural graphics as part of the game-development process, rather than as a technology added at the end,” said Andy Stewart, CEO, Sumo. “By combining Arm Neural Technology with Unreal Engine MegaLights and ray tracing, our team explored new storytelling opportunities that made use of cinematic lighting and new visual experiences while working within the realities of a mobile power budget.”

Building ecosystem support for neural graphics

Support for neural graphics is expanding across the mobile game ecosystem, especially from game engines and studios.

For game engines, Unity China is integrating Arm Neural Technology into its Tuanjie Engine, with a new version that integrates NSS recently announced. This brings NSS into familiar game-development workflows, making it easier for developers to adopt neural graphics in mobile games. Arm also supports Unreal Engine and custom Vulkan-based engines through the Arm Neural Graphics Development Kit.

For game studios, Arm is working with Infold Games and Sumo to validate neural graphics in production workflows, while the Tencent Games MagicDawn team is integrating Arm Neural Technology into MagicDawn and demonstrating it with real game content. NetEase Games is also supporting the growing adoption of neural graphics across its game titles.

And this is only the beginning. As Arm Neural Technology reaches more silicon, engines and game studios, developers will have new opportunities to bring their creative ambitions to life and deliver richer, more immersive, cinematic gaming experiences on mobile.

The future of mobile gaming is playable today

Neural Dawn started as an exploration of what neural graphics could make possible on the next generation of mobile hardware. Through collaboration between Arm, Sumo and the wider mobile gaming ecosystem, those ideas have become something players can experience for themselves.

The future of mobile gaming is here. Now it's your turn to play.
