From real-time text generation and summarization to assistants and advanced search, artificial intelligence (AI) is an essential part of todayโ€™s modern consumer device experience, redefining work and play.

Announced today (23 June), the new Arm-based Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14โ€ย marks a bold step forward in the evolution of these AI-powered experiences, putting powerful AI features and tools directly in the hands of users. It is powered by MediaTekโ€™s Kompanio Ultra system-on-chip (SoC), which is built on the Arm compute platform โ€“ where high performance meets industry-leading power efficiency.ย

Smarter, new built-in AI features on the device

Chromebook Plus devices deliver users with direct access to a range of brand-new AI features and tools, the majority of which are integrated into the ChromeOS. Several of these are unique to the Arm-powered Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14โ€ providing further AI capabilities for users, including iterative high-resolution image generation within the Gallery and Smart grouping via Chrome Tabs for faster, smarter and more seamless real-time AI experiences on the device.

Flexible performance and efficiency, with built-in security

All these AI features are automatically enhanced on the Armv9 architecture, which is engineered to deliver maximum performance and power efficiency. This enables advanced AI workloads to run locally, reducing latency, improving privacy, and extending battery lifeโ€”all inside the sleek and fanless Chromebook Plus. In addition to performance, the Armv9 architecture has built-in security features that help to protect data at a hardware and software level.

The Armv9 architecture is the foundation of MediaTekโ€™s Kompanio Ultra SoC, which integrates Arm Cortex-X925 CPU for high performance bursts and Arm Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 CPUs for power-efficient background AI processing, alongside the Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU for richer visuals and smoother streaming. The multicore combination enables responsive productivity, rich content creation, and smooth media experiences, all while delivering notably longer battery life than many traditional laptop architectures. This high level of power efficiency delivers up to 17 hours of usage on the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14โ€ to deliver the longest battery life across all Chromebook Plus devices.

The new era of AI experiences with Chromebook plus

As AI shifts from novelty to necessity, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14โ€ marks a breakthrough momentโ€”bringing faster, smarter, and more responsive computing to all users. This is underpinned by the Arm Compute Platform, enabling AI to run more securely and efficiently, and scale across the entire ecosystem of consumer devices. With Arm-powered Chromebook Plus devices offering unique new AI features, advanced AI capabilities are more accessible than ever before, helping users do more, create faster, and work smarter.
